Mr and Mrs Joan Gerke of Perry township resolved their divorce and assault suits amicably. Gerke, accompanied by attorney J F Edelstein, paid costs in LeMars and had the actions dismissed. A kitchen blaze at the Art Tucker farmhouse in Plymouth township nearly claimed eight year old Elmer Tucker. While his parents were away, smoke filled the kitchen and he was overcome before neighbors extinguished the fire. Elmer recovered after air was restored and he received attention for smoke inhalation. The fire damaged the kitchen window and a table. cause unknown.
LeMarc Chautauqua board elected I. Tt. Martin as president Rev W G Moore as first vice president Mrs A Treat as second vice president G L Schneider as secretary W H Perry as treasurer Dr M Hilbert as manager and committee members including Rev W G Moore Prof T B Hutton. Executive to canvass for members and season tickets set at two dollars until June first then two fifty. Plans target securing top talent and notable speakers for next June.
Special to The Tribune. K. Kueny 75, wealthy farmer near Mapleton Iowa, found dead in a field after search by fifty neighbors. Likely killed by cattle trampling or gored by a bull. body mutilated but death deemed accidental. Survived by wife, daughter, five sons including Dr GC F Kueny of LeMars. funeral planned in Danbury with all children expected to attend. Dr C F Kueny left to join family. Mrs Kueny ill and unable to travel.
Ahern, who is bound for LeMars, Iowa, was bid goodbye by a large group of railroad men and draymen familiar to him. At the farewell, L. A. Walker, Omaha freight depot agent, presented a beaded ebony cane engraved Uncle Jimmie as a token of lifelong friendship and best wishes. Ahern expressed deep emotion and pledged to treasure the gift.
Next Sunday there will be both morning and evening Christmas services at the Congregational church. The morning sermon will address Advent with a quartet and solos by Mrs. D. Drew and others, and the pastor will preach on How to spend the holidays. A voluntary and anthem by the chorus, plus a solo by Mrs. Koehler, will close the program.

Akron Register-Tribune reports Joe Part nam of Chattsworth suffered a painful injury Saturday while loading a barrel of salt into a wagon. A door board broke, he fell across a barrel and a second barrel rolled onto him. Three ribs torn loose, one badly splintered, body badly bruised but improving. He has the sympathy of many friends.

Miss Katharine Saunders and Charles A Fitch both of Minneapolis were united in marriage at St. George's Church LeMars by Rev C A Corbitt. After a noon ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the Dalton home and the couple planned to visit LeMars until after Christmas. Fitch, a traveling man, is manager at Minneapolis for Borden and Selleck. the bride has lived in Minneapolis for years.
Miss Edna Ludwig wed Mr Dietrich Westhouff Thursday at 3 PM at the Ludwig home in Grant township. Rev J D Meyer officiated, about twenty families attended, a wedding feast followed, and many presents were given. The couple will live on the Westhoull homestead. groom’s parents Mr and Mrs John Westhouff moved to town this week.
Miss Alice Diamond of LaMars and John Thompson of Fredonia township wed Wednesday at the bride’s sister Mrs Beungkll home in Hawarden. The ceremony at St George's LeMare followed by relatives and close friends. They depart for Ashmore Oklahoma Territory to farm if the locality suits them. Diamond has long resided in LeMare and is a respected teacher active in church and society work. Thompson is well established in the city and held in high regard.
