Death of Mrs Nels Nelson in LeMars
Mrs Nels Nelson of LeMars died at her daughter’s home on Hubbard Street after a long illness. Born January 18 1831 in Kollandborg Denmark she was nearly 75. She came to the United States in 1882 and had seven children. Funeral was held Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev Parker Smith. Surviving children are Mrs Soren Nelson Mrs J P A Schmidt Peter Berg Peter Nelson and James Nelson. The notice ends with local ads and holiday promotions from Evans & Co jewellers.

Pionfer Passes Away in Sioux City at 67
Philip Schneider a pioneer of Plymouth county died at his home on Wail Street in Sioux City from Brights disease. Funeral held at Melbourne church attended by many including Le Mars residents. Born in Hesse Darmstadt Germany in 1629 he came to America in 1818 and helped establish Floyd valley with brothers and others. Survived by nine children and his wife, with a largely German service noted.

Thirty-Fifth Annual Plymouth County Bible Society Meeting
The Thirty-Fifth Annual Meeting of the Plymouth County Bible Society was held at First Methodist Church on Sunday evening. Rev. G C Rueinfrank presided in the absence of President C A Mauer. Dr. Thoren of Western Union College preached the sermon and delivered an engaging address. Officers elected for the coming year include G M Mordoff president Juin Stengel vice president G otrobl treasurer Joseph Bogen secretary J G Huebseh Geo Kunder Chris Hahn W W Jeffers M Huehsch N Redman J G Koenig T E Bauer and G W Peek M L Rayburn as executive committee. The ministers of local churches serve as ex officio members. Treasurer reported $64.19 in the treasury. The depository and other matters will be reviewed by the executive committee. the book depository is at B H Carey’s, with plans for a larger supply and renewed effort to advance the society’s work.

Resigns as Assistant Pastor at Waterloo Baptist Church
Miss Ellie M. Jones resigns from her post as assistant pastor at Waterloo Baptist Church effective next Friday due to her mother's ill health. She arrived Jan. 1, 1906, and helped expand the Home Department of the Sunday school, led juniors and Young People, and aided women’s groups. The church honors her with a gold pin from the junior society, and Dr. Barr may seek a temporary replacement. She will return to Le Mars Iowa, where her mother’s health improves.

Death of Ray Bridgeman in LeMars posted here
Ray Bridgeman a LeMars resident for about five years died at the poor farm on Saturday from kidney disease and other illnesses. He had long lived in Galena Illinois where his father ran a book store and stationery and he later ran the business unsuccessfully. He served as deputy postmaster at Galena during Grant's administration. After leaving Galena he worked as a bookkeeper for Pew Bros in LeMars for about fourteen years. A frugal, reserved man, Bridgeman reportedly changed after a love affair and left few friends seeking aid. He had one brother once living at Hanover Illinois. Remains were taken to Grand Rapids Furniture Co. awaiting disposition from Galena authorities.

Robbery Alleged At Alton Hotel In North Dakota Worker
Alton resident Merril area banker or threshing crew worker recounts entering room theft. He claims his pocketbook with 84 was stolen from his coat while staying at a hotel in Alton on Thursday night. He reported the incident to Alton officers and hired McDuttie Keenan to recover the funds. He borrowed money in LeMars to continue homeward Friday.

Husband Denies Divorce as Wife Seeks Break
Graham refuses to sue for divorce while his wife remains with Baum at the Baum home. He says he has given her no reason to file and will contest any action.
