Central School Expansion Plans Spark Civic Effort
The Central Steering Committee will seek aid from a larger Citizens' committee of local civic educational and church groups to back a building program at Central School. Proposals include a classroom addition and a gymnasium at 315 First Avenue S aimed at easing elementary overflow and future junior and senior enrollment growth. The 1950 census shows more three-year-olds than thirteen-year-olds in the Le Mars district, with younger children nearly as numerous as older groups.
