The bride Anna Mac Ericson of Sioux City and maid Phyllis Anderson, both Sioux City, plus best man Wilbur Tucker, with Robert Simmons and Richard Schultz as ushers, attended a wedding described with period attire and colonial bouquets. A reception for about 200 followed at the church parlor with readings and nuptial music. The bride, a Le Mars high school graduate training in nurses, plans to enter University of Iowa City. groom a Le Mars graduate entering dentistry at University of Iowa law. They will reside in Iowa City after a trip to Minneapolis and nearby points.
Doris Norman of Storm Lake played pre ceremony music and Mrs Joseph Fisch of Remsen along with Miss Flaine Johnson of Pauling sang with accompaniment by Miss Norman. The event featured dresses in white and yellow and nile green.

George Paskert 73 retired farmer died Friday in Cherokee Iowa after about two months illness. Funeral at St Marys Church Remsen Monday 9:30 a.m. with Msgr M A Schemel officiating burial in St Marys Cemetery. Born May 20 1877 at Ovens Iowa son of Theodore and Mrs Paskert. Married Elizabeth Wintz October 4 1897. Survived by wife two sons Lorence and Matt and daughter Mes feo Kufers of Sioux City seven grandchildren one brother Tony Paskert one sister Mrs Mike Frank. Preceded in death by parents and three children. Fisch Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Music played by the church choir and Wayne Crawley, friend of the groom, as the bride entered the church with selections including Ave Maria and On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother. The ceremony continued with the couple exchanging vows.
Mrs Ann Marienau entertained twenty guests Sunday at seven for a pre nuptial dinner honoring Ruth Meis and her son Charles Marienau who wed Monday morning at St Joseph's Catholic Church with Rt Rev Monsignor J D Fisch officiating. The table featured lavender green and yellow decorations.

In Remsen a city dump infestation of rats prompted a firefighting style eradication using gasoline and flame. Fire crews watched for spread as a ring of fire aimed to force survivors to the center, after which no rats were seen though underground runways may have held some. James Klauer assumed Akron postmaster duties on Friday succeeding acting postmaster M. C. Ross after two years in that role. Klauer received a brief briefing and will oversee local mail operations.
The new postmaster, Mr. Klauer, stresses accurate record keeping and strict adherence to Post Office Department regulations. A veteran Akron businessman, he has long operated meat and grocery markets and is now preparing to manage the postal unit with precision.
Tom Greene of the State Department of Public Instruction and several county superintendents met Christine Petersen to finalize plans for the Tri County Teacher's Institute in Le Mars on September 28. About four hundred fifty county teachers are expected. all public schools except Sioux City will close that day to allow attendance. A speaker list and program will appear later in the Globe-Post.
The Le Mars deanery Youth Organization held its first meeting of the school year in St. Marys school hall Remsen. Two delegates from each of the eight parishes attended to select new officers for the year. Last year’s officers were Elmer Nitzschke Remsen president Lorraine Rolfes Le Mars vice president Mary Buckley Maurice secretary Joan Stoffel Oyens treasurer.
Regular Wednesday sale invites stock from sellers with cattle and hogs including lightweight calves, milk cows, a hereford bull, pigs, sows, and boars. 350 bales of alfalfa hay and some straw offered. Prompt starts noted as runs increase and crowds arrive early for a faster sale.

A Mass was offered at 6 30 o clock in Catholic church and guests included Kenneth and Mrs Gene Louis, Mrs Gene Loutsch, Leland Konz, and Mrs Lawrence Alesch, with additional relatives from Creighton and Alton attending.
