Lone School Notes on Declamatory Contest Tryouts

This week room tryouts determined results across grades. Winners include Joan Sipe Howard Buchanan Helen Lundell Delbert Coch in first and second. Jocior Mason Margaret Lindekin in third and fourth humorous. Maxine McCurdy Copl and Stuart Rankin tied in non humorous, earning another tryout. High school honors list includes Oratorial and Humorous winners and names several students. The large field produced many ties and no clear firsts in some divisions. next tryout set for March.

Manhattan Marionettes Return to Local Lyceum

The Lyceum Course presents the Manhattan Marionettes on March 15 in the school auditorium. Thirty costumed marionettes perform sketches from A Tale of France and Dickens along with Circus Daya acts, Wizardo the illusionist, and musical numbers by Madame Hicoffski the soprano and Signor Ivorino the pianist.
