Walter Eubanks Buys Allison Farm Nearby

Walter Eubanks purchased the Allison farm about one mile below Lane from Ike Howard and took all stock machinery and implements. He expects to assume control on Mason’s return from Shepherd's Springs. Also notes a Thermos Bottle offer at Bullard's Pharmacy and a family vacation report from Mr. and Mrs. L. E Dick. For sale five hogs around 100 pounds from J A Troedson Morgan Oregon.

Father of J. R. Robison Dies at The Dalles

Mr. M. Robison of Maryhill Washington and father of J. R. Robison of this city died at The Dalles hospital on August 18 at age 72. He leaves four children two boys and two girls three sisters and one brother all attending the funeral except one sister ill. I R Robison visited his father while en route to Portland last week and, after seeking medical advice, drove on to Portland before learning of death. He was recalled by a message and returned to lone this week, followed by Mrs Robison.

New School Building Progresses Rapidly

Lone's new schoolhouse rises with first two floors in place and second floor supports poured early this week. Roof trusses framed, auditorium walls up, balcony framing done. Electric wiring to begin, 25 workers, most local, excavation started July 5, building operations began July.

Lexington News Briefs From Town and Surrounding States

Local notes record visits and travel from officials and residents including the state school superintendent visiting town. Movements include Mrs Burgoyne and son heading to the coast, others arriving from Washington and Oregon to work, study, or harvest hops.

Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hale departed Thursday for Shepherd's Springs Washington for a few weeks of bathing benefits for rheumatism. Edger Gray and party visited with C A Low family then left by Crater Lake for Los Angeles. Electrician E E Milliran from Portland wired the new schoolhouse for E L Knight and Co. Long Beach guests F M McConnell and family spent a few days in Portland and returned to lone. J J Chisholm of Pendleton visited for the Round-Up. Bert Mason left for Shepherd's Springs to treat rheumatism. Anderson family heads to Portland for school starting September first and Mrs Anderson stays with the children. Engelman returned from Buyer's Week in Portland. he and wife, though ill briefly, expect home soon.

Raymond Shaver and Charles Adams return to Kansas after six months in Lone. Ed Holmquist heads to The Dalles. Watches repaired at McMurray’s Hall. Dr D R Hayley to be in Heppner Sept 1–2.

Relay Races Set for Pendleton Round-Up This Year

Four relay airings are planned for the Pendleton Round-Up September 18 to 20 with riders supplied by Geo Drumheller Eddie Mc Carty Harry Walters and C B Irwin. Trophies include prize saddles the Roosevelt trophy and the Police Gazette belt plus cash and merchandise prizes for all events.
