The Congregational church will dedicate its new building on Sunday August 24 with morning afternoon and evening services and a basket lunch at the church. Morning preaching at the Christian church will be omitted so members may join the ceremony. Special music will be provided and all are invited.

113 Million Bu Wheat to Market From This District
District Manager Walter A. Mitchell of Kerr-Gifford outlines the 1924 wheat production for Morrow and Gilliam counties in Oregon and part of Klickitat county in Washington. The marketable yield is about 600,000 sacks or one and one third million bushels, roughly 30 percent of last year, with seed and feed reserves deducted. Figures are in sacks. 1923 was an especially good year.

In Memoriam Eugene Myers 71 Pioneer of Oregon
Eugene Myers aged 71 died August 15 at the home of his daughter Mrs Frank Young in Jane after an apoplectic stroke four weeks earlier. A pioneer of Oregon he settled in 1860 and survived an 1860 emigrant train attack in which his uncle and most adults were killed.

Mr and Mrs Moreland and their son Clay traveled from Monmouth to attend the funeral of Mrs Morelands father Eugene Myers arriving Saturday and returning Monday. Mrs Clay Moreland had been visiting in the home of Mrs Frank Young. E Padberg and three children Pearl Hazel and Derrill went to Portland for dental work and bond business for Farmers Elevator Co and Jordan elevator. Pearl Padberg stayed in Portland to work in the Meier and Franks drug department before returning with the others.
