Sudden Death of Henry F. Gray

Henry F. Gray longtime Crook County resident dies at home near Hulett after a brief illness. Born December 22, 1862 in Hudson Wisconsin he married Ida B. Blore and had six children Leila Warren Dora and Mrs George Jolley survive him. Funeral services conducted by Rev J M Brown were held at the house and burial followed at Storm Cemetery with many mourners in attendance.

Special School Meeting Held March 23 1918

By order of the School Board a special meeting of the legal voters of school district No 10 Crook County Hulett Wyoming is called Saturday March 23 1918 at the school house at two o'clock to vote on bonding the district for three thousand eight hundred dollars eight eight hundred to repair the old school building build an addition put in furnace cistern February 18 1918

Land Office Appointments Made in Sundance

President Wilson nominated Carl H. Massie for Sundance register and C. R. Yeoman for receiver of public money. Nominations dated February 28 expect Senate confirmation soon. Massie, former Crook County assessor, resigns to take register post. Yeoman serves as receiver for four years and is praised. W. J. Wood not seeking reapportionment, returns to his ranch near Hulett.

The Red Cross sends 32 bed shirts and 81 pajama suits this week with knitted articles to follow. Jay Heijde, at Rapid City Business College, visited over the weekend for the ball game and dance. Mrs. Hannah Evans and family spent Sunday with the B A Weaver family. Mr and Mrs Adame returned to their Dry Creek ranch last week. Mrs Ed Wopat and children moved back to the ranch Monday. Ralph Forter is busy moving houses. George Moore, son of Mr and Mrs Wayne Moore, has been very ill.

E E Sims was hurt at the saw mill after a log pinned him against a stump injuring chest and shoulder but he is improving. A crowd gathered at Emmit Redding's for cards with F E Tracy and wife and Margaret. Thirteen people met at C J Derrickson's for Red Cross knitting. J Nelson and H Cremoens came from Pine Creek wood sawing. Walter Marchant and wife joined Adair family for a Sunday visit. Clay Massie returned from Belle Fourche. Chas Parson and wife visited Bert Derrickson and talked with friends.
