In Indianapolis early Tuesday a man Herman Meyers and woman Nora Richardson were found dead on Downey street near Hast street. Meyers shot Richardson then killed himself with the same revolver, leaving letters showing a doomed romance and pleading from a betrayed lover. Neighbors heard shots. coroner and undertaker removed the bodies.
Treasurer Scholz submitted an annual financial report to the governor for the year ending Oct 31 1896. It itemizes state office expenses including the governor 12650.07 auditor 16109.97 secretary of state 11607.46 attorney general 11693.25 and others totaling 2807160.09 with a balance of 16687.80.

Chas F Robbins administrator for Henry H Catherwood’s estate filed a final report this Monday. The estate, the oldest on the probate docket, began with Henry H Catherwood’s death on August 30 1872 and his widow, administratrix. After remarriage, Robbins was appointed in 1881. The former widow disposed of 308 Citizens street railroad shares but never paid. Robbins sued the company for reissue and won, then recovered against Tom Johnson who held the stock and also lost.

Ella Miller, a destitute woman from Kentucky, was arrested for vagrancy, found filthy enough to need cleaning.
