Senate finance committee Republicans meet to map revenue and cut schedules.
New York report says a balloon equipped with home comforts will be used by A. C. Trica and his wife in the Indianaapolis championship race on June 5. A hammock tied couch will provide rest and food will be carried. The pair plans to stay aloft for at least two days.
Fred Castle, previously charged with his wife's murder and moved from Marion to Shelby county, was brought back to the Marion county jail from Shelbyville on Thursday afternoon to face a new charge.

Miss Matilda Myers aged 24 killed herself by swallowing carbolic acid at the Catholic cemetery on South Meridian Street this afternoon. She resided with her mother at 824 South Senate Avenue. Eyewitness Adolph Blick reported seeing her kneel repeatedly at the Myers family lot before taking the poison. A note left by Miss Myers said she endured great suffering and bade goodbye to her mother and friends.
Mrs. Franklin McNabb found a stranger at her kitchen table Wednesday afternoon stealing a thick juicy pie just baked. The surprised burglar fled the Broadway residence when confronted. Police note the pie attracted him as he left, judging from the amount taken.
Mrs. Benjamin Harrison reported to police on Thursday that dogs in her neighborhood near 1214 North Delaware Street had been poisoned. She said several valuable pets were killed and urged an investigation.
The Peabody educational fund trustees at Waldorf Astoria voted to distribute $2.5 million now on hand rather than continuing small income gifts to colleges. About $1 million will go to Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville affiliated with the University of Tennessee, with the remaining $2.5 million to be issued in roughly $50,000 installments to other colleges. The distribution plan targets amounts to be sent in the south before January next year.
