Columbus reports Hanna needs two more votes as eight Republicans cling to opposition. Fusionists plan to elect Jeptha Garrard short term and Kurtz long term while Democrats stay in line. Inauguration day proceeds with Gov Bushnell taking oath and a large parade despite politics.
Antis in Columbus claim a Cincinnati fusionist offered 20000 dollars for a vote and 10000 paid to the man who exposed it. The case, said to be proven, heads to Columbus for a 4 p m disclosure. Rival Hanna and anti Hanna factions rally in Cleveland with tours to influence the Ohio inauguration and ratification meetings.
Mark Hanna has petitioned Kentucky republicans for aid. A Falls City Republican Club delegation will depart Monday for Columbus to advocate for Hanna with other clubs pledging resolutions and more delegations anticipated across the state. Middaugh descr ibed a fatality with Gipe struck by the rear tender on the next track as the engine crew prepared to quit. He recalled a crushing sound and a bell ring before seeing Gipe hanging from the window.
Rumor says A. A. Stubbins proprietor of the Charlemont apartment house will control the English hotel after completion of the new portion. It is said to run on the American European plan with a high class cafe fronting Monument place.
The Indianapolis Board of Health condemns fourteen diseased cows and orders tests for dairies selling milk in the city. Sanitarian Clark warns tainted milk risks tuberculosis, especially for infants. Dr. Clark and Dr. Pritchard conduct tests. about 380 dairies and 3,800 cows are involved. state cooperation promised.
Otis A. Birge aged 29 a well known figure in cycling circles died at his home 32 N David son street after seven months illness. He formerly worked as a traveling salesman for the Mohawk cycle company. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p m.
