Chicago reports Louis Luetgert, testifying for the prosecution, claimed his mother spoke to him at midnight before her presumed corpse. He said he plans to open a downtown saloon and predicted more surprises for the state. Witnesses described Luetgert’s agitated demeanor and alleged threats.
The Jarrels of 218 Senate Avenue faced a chaotic night with a stab wound to Henry Jarrel and arrests for Manda Jarrel on intoxication and Harry Jarrel on assault with intent to kill. His body was found Tuesday at 4 50 am in a wicker chair beside his store with a blood pool nearby. Harris had pawned away his savings on drinking and had tried to buy poison earlier Monday. He had separated from his wife and left behind a son in Missouri and a California based ex wife.
William C Fleagan, a West Indian artist, died at City Hospital after a fall from a balcony on Riverave. He had been bedridden since Sunday with a broken back and paralysis. Police report the accident occurred when he dozed off and toppled from the railing.
The autopsy on Thomas Condon, found dead in Judge Black's room at the state house Monday morning, shows death caused by fatty degeneration of the heart. The examination was conducted by Drs. George L. Servoss and Thomas B. Nobic.

Martin Misner a South Bend youth has been brought to Indianapolis to face federal grand jury action on counterfeiting charges. Authorities allege his brother in law Dore a lithographer from South Bend now in Grand Falls sent him 13 counterfeit bills to pass for silver, with Misner redeeming two at the outset before Dore disappeared.
A Vandalia railroad section hand H A Stein was badly bruised after being struck by the first car of passenger train No 4 as he stood too close to the track near the trafer station two miles west of the city. He was taken to St Vincent's hospital. Stein is married and lives at 46 Edwards West Indianapolis. Ed McTann a Brazilian native and former L and N railroad detective faced drunkenness charges in police court but was released after denying intoxication. He described himself as not drunk and spoke of a rough dialect while asserting he works honestly for money.
Two footpads leaped from a shadow in front of D. P. Erwin's on South Meridian street and grabbed Mrs. Lizzie Singleton of 1311 South Meridian and Miss Lillie Fredericks of Oliver Avenue on their way to Union Station. Singleton's pocketbook containing $1 was taken.
