Indiana County Fair Delights Crowds Record Attendance
The Indiana County Agricultural Society hosted a week of excellent weather and large crowds at the Indiana fair. Thursday set new records with vast overland and rail arrivals, 28 000 gate entries by mid afternoon, and tickets yielding over $5000 in receipts. Reed band from Johnstown provided music, and track events and balloon attractions drew visitors, though Mile Zeno’s absence disappointed some. The Indiana Ministerial Association met, planning Y W C A entertainment for October and arranging a Sunday-train service for the Indiana branch.

Fire damaged a bedroom and clothing in Wilse Johnston’s west Philadelphia street dwelling on Friday around nine o clock after a lamp left burning exploded. Two sleeping children in the same room were nearly suffocated before rescue. A bureau and other furniture were damaged but the blaze remained confined to one room.
