Auto Crash In Dixonville Leaves Two Injured
Daniel Jaquish and Robert Lang of Dixonville were hospitalized after a Saturday crash when their auto struck a telephone pole. Quarrel Ends in Fatal Gunshot Wound in Seward Area
A man identified as Stiles, 21, was shot in the right lung during a quarrel with Cooney McCullough near Seward on Saturday. He was taken to Memorial hospital, with his fate uncertain. McCullough was not yet arrested. Stiles was described as powerfully built and his condition remains critical. Also noted, Miss Margaret Hasinger of Wayne Avenue left for Windham to teach.

Patrons Mutual Booster Reported lowest assessment in years
Directors of the Patrons Mutual Insurance Company met in the secretary’s office last Wednesday. Company losses for the year totaled about 14 000 dollars. An assessment of seven percent on premium notes was levied to cover expenses, the lowest in the company’s history. Assessments will be mailed around October first. Burleson urged replacing horses with automobiles for rural mail routes and lengthening routes to fifty miles. The House committee backed a bill to pay mail carriers with auto routes at 4 800 dollars annually, plus 600 dollars for automobile purchase and upkeep.
