Long Career Ends as Mr Alexander Moorhead Dies
The elder editor of the Progress, Alexander Thompson Moorhead, dies at 11:00 a m after a brief illness. A lifelong county resident, he led the paper since 1887, served as postmaster under Hayes and Arthur, and shaped local affairs through Republican work and Sabbath school leadership. Survived by his widow and ten children, funeral at North Seventh Street and interment in Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs Willard Improving After Erie Accident
Mrs Sue Willard of West Philadelphia Street suffered a fracture of her left ankle and left wrist when she tripped in the gymnasium at the Y M C A building during the state convention of the Associated Charities in Erie on October 16. She was taken to Herman Hospital for prompt treatment and was brought home Tuesday by Warren Kline. Her condition is reported as improving though fatigued from the trip.
