Hillsdale merchant's dwelling burned on Sunday morning
A fire destroyed the dwelling of P Churchill, Hillsdale’s well known merchant, at eight Sunday morning. Neighbors battled flames to save the home and adjacent store, but the roof fell in. Loss estimated at $3,000 with $1,000 insured. Adjoining buildings were saved, contents partially rescued, and no further insured coverage stated.

Mine Superintendent Injured In Bridge Collapse
J. J. Long, mine superintendent for coal operations of J. H. Weaver at Stafford near Mitchells Mills, was seriously injured when a trestle collapsed while two stone cars were moved from a new mine opening. His left leg was broken in two places and internal injuries are feared. He was taken to Williamsport hospital in critical condition.

Indiana Dramatic Association Plans Season Plays
The Indiana Dramatic Association with 40 members organized again and will present several plays this season. Officers: President J Wood Clark Secretary Mrs W Pilkin Treasurer James B Blair. First attraction is the cantata Columbus at Library Hall next Wednesday evening featuring a chorus of 100 voices. Rehearsals are held nightly and the opening play aims for a big success.

Lost part of his hand under a train at Punxsutawney
Grant Condron of Smicksburg crawled beneath a freight train to cross the tracks in Punxsutawney. A wheel ran over his hand, amputation of part of the thumb was needed, and he was taken to Punxsutawney hospital. Emer Williams of Wayne Avenue hunted with Indiana men returning home Friday. A deer and a bear were killed by the hunters, with Harvey L. Engle among the shooters. The party plans to camp in the same vicinity.

New Presbyterian Church to be Occupied for first time
A handsome new Presbyterian church will be occupied for the first time this evening with a Thanksgiving prayer meeting in the Sunday school rooms as the main auditorium nears completion. Regular Sunday school begins next Sunday at 8:30 with a special program by Superintendent Guthrie and music. The Christian Mission Society will hold an evening service in the Sunday school rooms. The main auditorium should be ready for worship in early January with new pews arriving mid month and pipe organ installation underway.
