Mutilated body identified as undertaker's brother in Creekside tragedy
Alex McCracken, who left Rochester Mills for Creekside Saturday night, was found dead beside the railroad. An engine crew recovered body parts along the track near the trolley station. Undertaker J J McCracken of Creekside identified the deceased as his brother after discovering papers in the pockets. Funeral services were held in Rochester Mills with burial at Thompson graveyard.

Firemen Busy on Saturday Six Alarms Within Hours
Indiana firemen battled six alarms Saturday, starting with a North Sixth Street extension house owned by W H Clawson and home to the Ferrier family. Firefighters faulted wall cutting, a hole not allowed, leaving the house a total loss while contents were saved. A McMullen residence on West Church Street and a McHenry barn on Nixon Alley also burned, but horses were removed. Boges and McGregor donated a $100 back to the fire association in appreciation of the response.

A group of Leechburg businessmen will apply to the governor on December 19 for a charter to form the Acme Natural Gas Company. Walkinshaw Sentenced for Second Degree Murder in Ohio
Frank Walkinshaw, former Blairsville resident, killed his wife in Loraine Ohio in August and drew life imprisonment after pleading guilty to second degree murder. A 100 business man petition and an agreement by Walkinshaw and his brother V V Walkinshaw to oppose release plus plans to educate the children helped secure the plea and court acceptance.

Freight wreck halts traffic near Locust
A northbound freight on the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburg line derailed ten cars near Locust Thursday afternoon. No injuries reported. Coal from the wrecked cars delayed crews and trains for several hours. Passengers from Punxaotawney were moved to the Taclin branch train, arriving about two hours late. Bonds to be paid for the Second Series Poor Bonds at thirty thousand dollars, due December 1, with funds set aside to offset the first series. Edward Sweeney Died After Being Struck by Train
Edward L. Sweeney of Emsworth was fatally injured at Woods Run station Pittsburg on Saturday night while returning home. A 37 year old moulder, he died shortly after at St Johns hospital. He leaves a widow and three children and is survived by siblings in Aspinwall North Side Pittsburg Bellevue Philadelphia Steubenville Indiana. The body was brought to his home on Eleventh street for funeral services held yesterday and burial in Greenwood cemetery.
