Tragic Clarion: Boy Hangs on Towel at Dickie Farm
In Wheatfield township a 4 year old, John Hendry, died after a towel twisted around his neck while swinging on it at the Dickie farm near Heshbon. Coroner’s inquest reported accidental strangulation as the likely cause. The boy, an orphan formerly of Pittsburgh, had been living at the farm for three years and was said to be well treated. Neighbors speculated about poisoning, but postmortem findings showed no poison. Coroner Miller's jury, including A L Cribba and Daniel D., presided.
