Burious Hunting Accident Injures Wilmer Menara at Farm
Wilmer Menara about 24 was seriously injured while hunting on his father’s farm near Tanoma. A gun misfire from striking a stump entered his lower jaw and lodged in the brain area. He was taken to Dr Coe hospital in Dixonville where an operation was performed. He is reported to be recovering.

Early escape from Girls Industrial Home at 3 a.m.
Margaret Mcintire of Warren and Belle Goon of Mahaffey, both 15, inmates at the Girls Industrial Home on South Eleventh Street, escaped Monday morning about 3:00. They were not missed for hours despite efforts to locate them. Mcintire is dark complexioned and medium build while Goon is slim with a light complexion. Mine Rescue Car No. 1 of the Bureau of Mines arrives at Pennsylvania Station at 7 30 this evening and stays until 11 65 Friday. The public is urged to visit the car to see life saving devices and demonstrations for miner rescue and first aid. Experts will lecture on safety in coal mining and oxygen helmet use for two hours. This tour is part of a state program to reduce mine deaths. The car will then head to Wilkes-Barre. six such cars will be stationed statewide for rapid response.
