Rubber Factory to Rise Near Town This Year
Indiana will gain a new rubber factory to be built and owned by Harry McCreary on the Allison farm west of town. The plant, costing about 875,000 including equipment, aims to start operation by January next year with a 40 by 160 foot main building and a large labor force. A 1600 foot Pennsylvania railroad spur is under construction to serve the site, and the Allison farm of 17.5 acres was purchased for 21,000, providing rail access and space for expansion.

Young Man Electrocuted Repairing Wire on Third Street
Arthur Morrison 18, son of Mrs Nel lie Morrison of West Philadelphia street, was electrocuted Thursday morning on a Third street pole at 30 feet after contacting a 2200 volt high power line. He fell onto concrete, crushing his skull. death occurred within minutes. Morrison worked for Huntington and Clearfield Telephone Company, from a Bell pole. Violation: cattle law case, D B Stambaugh fined for illegally importing cattle from Ohio into Pennsylvania. All cattle except immediate slaughter stock require a health certificate. State Veterinarian Dr C J Marshall says other dealers may face charges under Interstate cattle law.

GC M Wortman of town drove the tingson car into Harry Laughlin’s Buick at the Sixth and Water streets junction Friday evening. Both cars were badly wrecked and Wortman’s was sent to the factory for repairs. No injuries to Wortman or Vaughan were reported. An arch light toppled to the street in the crash.

The third annual meeting of the Indiana Congress of Women's Clubs was held May 21 in the chapel of the Feat Presbyterian church. Mrs. Harry C. Christy presided as new clubs Saltsburg Musical Club Pleasant Valley Club of Plumville and Century and New Era Clubs of Blairsville joined, bringing ten clubs total. The program included music, readings, and talks on education and library extension. Committees were appointed and to meet July 15 in Indiana to begin work.
