The will of William H. Smith dated May 5 1913 leaves the widow the homestead farm east of town with farming implements for life and the money on hand as needed. After her death the farm and personal property go to son Isaac W. Smith, with the money on hand to be divided equally among seven children. Other provisions name Arthur C. Smith in Second ward Indiana, and divide real estate among six or more heirs. Executors Susanna Smith Isaac W and Arthur C Smith may sell estate if not divided within a year.

Senator John S. Fisher and his daughter Mary of South Tenth street had a remarkable escape when their buggy toppled over a 40 foot embankment near the old stone culvert at Galble ton on the Marion Center road. The horse backed the vehicle as an automobile passed. the shasta brake kept the occupants safe. The buggy was damaged but neither Fisher nor Mary was injured.
