Aged constable ends life with a bullet
Saltsburg officer B. F. Becknerode, longtime constable and health officer, shot himself in front of his Balt Street home Friday morning after returning from Hyde Park. He was 60, survived by his wife and two brothers, George of Derby and Charles of Avonmore. The report notes no motive and states the act occurred before his wife could reach him.
