A Backwoods Wedding Tale of Odd Traditions
An Elder and his wife attend a rustic marriage in a frontier cabin. The bride Sally and groom Lemuel create a rowdy, humorous ceremony amid boisterous kin, improvised vows, and comic mishaps including a coverlet reveal, a dust-filled room, and a final, chaotic kiss. The observer narrator recalls wary parish life and a difficult meal after the event.
