Ten year old Stephen Dale Griffith of White township was fatally injured when a driving accident with a buggy occurred as he and his seven year old sister Maude rode. The buggy lacked shafts and wheels after a horse bolted, dragging Stephen until unconscious. He died about three hours later at Indiana hospital. Funeral planned at the family home with Rev J Clark.

Bear Shot After Stalking Sheep in East Mahoning
A 200 pound black bear entered the Hudson farm near Savan Station in East Mahoning township. It chased sheep at J F Stuchell’s, then walked through the stockyard and was shot by OC P Kinter and Thomas Barclay. The animal’s first appearance was among the sheep before its demise.
