New News of Yesterday at Long Meadow Mansion Tale
An Edward O Wolcott anecdote recounts a Denver senator's visit with his parents to the Long Meadow Massachusetts mansion they admired in youth. He offers the home to his parents as a token to repay their sacrifices, with funds set aside for upkeep, in a 1908 copyright note. A separate item notes a 48 foot car carrying live fish from Alton to Philadelphia, aiming to transport 8000 pounds of carp and dogfish. The aerated, cooled tank car represents an inaugural, specialized shipment method.
