Langham and Henry Win Large Victory in County Votes
The county backed J. N. Langham for Congress with a large plurality and James T. Henry won the Assembly nomination, leading M. C. Watson by over 700. Harry White trailed Langham in the district, with total county votes over 2,400 for Henry and 1,600 for Watson. Democratic turnout was under 300 with no candidates in most races.

Salem Q church to mark fiftieth anniversary celebration
Arrangements are advancing for the fiftieth anniversary ceremonies of the Salem Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington township near Willet to be held next Wednesday. The church traces its roots to 62 years ago with worship in homes and tents before a formal congregation formed in 1880-81. Rev. Fast led early services, now Rev. John Hall serves as pastor as membership stands at 38. The church aided the growth of nearby Creekside Willet and Greenoak congregations.

The annual readjustment of postmasters salaries is announced with July 1 effective increases. Indiana rises from 2600 to 2700, Blairsville 2100 to 2200, Homer City 1400 to 1800, Clymer 1100 to 1200, Saliaburg 1800 to 1990, Cherry Tree 1200 to 1300, Barnesboro 1800 to 1900, Carrolltown 1200 to 1300.
