In a violent storm on Tinnessy afternoon a buggy toppled into Crooked Creek near Creekside. The woman, 48, and her 10-year-old adopted son, both residents of Creekside, perished as floodwaters swept them away. A search found the boy's body at Thomas bridge in Armstrong township. the woman was recovered near Shelocta.
