Ghost Boat Seen Aboard Off Lizard Shoal Mystery
Lightship No 4 reports a ghost boat sighting during a gale nine miles east of the Lizard. A bound man in a dinghy, crewed by no one aboard, drifted to windward before vanishing as rescuers watched. The storm later broke up wrecks and the lightship was moved, ending the danger once the debris was cleared.
