Two Iselin speakeasies facing raids by Sheriff H. W. Thomas yielded 90 cases of beer and five casks of whiskey at House No 179 owned by Annie Kuatke and 100 casks of beer plus whiskey and wine at House No 20 occupied by John Shuster. A local man, G P McCartney, underwent kidney surgery at Indiana hospital. his condition is serious but improving. Labor Day celebration planned in Phumville on Monday December 6.

Ethel Brewer an about eighteen year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Ebert Brewer of Rosamoyne died in the cellar of her home on Monday afternoon She went to the cellar to burn and was found dead by her mother Examination showed no cause for death a lump on her head the only apparent injury No other marks found The Brewer family are well known residents of the county

Poison Mistake Kills Rossiter Woman Near Punxsutawney
Mrs Theda Tyger Schank of Rossiter died at Punxsutawney hospital after taking bichloride of mercury in error for medicine. The 20 year old wife of William Schank was staying with her father D G Tyger on the Jacob Smith farm near Rossiter when she collapsed. Found unconscious by her family, she died despite hospital treatment. She leaves a husband and a seven month old child.

Tragic Horse Fall Kills Pastor's Young Son
George Hall seven-year-old son of Rev John Hall of Marion Center died instantly when he fell from a horse at the home of Mrs Mary Wilcox in Washington township. Witnesses rushed to help but the neck was broken. The body was returned to Marion Center and funeral services were held Friday.

Fire destroys Hileman home at Reed Station
A broken section of tile pipe used for a flue caused a fire that ruined J. M. Hileman’s modern frame home at Reed Station yesterday afternoon. Only a three bedroom suite survived. a wagon shed suffered minor damage. The house, insured for 1400, was one of the county’s best kept country homes and is the third on that site to burn.

Drowning in shallow pool near Lucerne claims Paul Tiffany
Paul B Tiffany, son of B B Tiffany of town, was found drowned in a shallow pool of water in Twolick creek near Lucerne yesterday morning. A victim of epilepsy he is believed to have fallen face down from a log while crossing. Tiffany belonged to Ira Mikerell s engineer corps and carried a back rod during surveying near Homer City. Coroner Hammers took the body to his home on Seventh street. he leaves father, one brother Herbert of near Denver, and two sisters Mrs Elmer W Allison and Ruth Tiffany.

Alexander Campbell of White Township died after a lingering illness at 74. Survived by several children and interment at United Presbyterian cemetery in Sheloca. Horace Stephen Youngblood of Indiana died after consumption, known as Greely, with two brothers and three sisters left. Funeral at 2:00 today, Greenwood cemetery. Archibald Clawson of Punxsutawney died at 47 from heart trouble, survived by wife and two children plus three sisters. Harry Cribbs of Jacksonville died at 60, survived by wife and many children.
