Sagamore Coal Plant to Eclipse State Output
Buffalo & Susquehanna plan a Sagamore coal plant near Plumville that will be the largest in the region. A 325 by 100 foot brick powerhouse rises, a 6,000 ton daily tipple will push output toward Ernest, with 10 coal openings expected to supply the mine. Over 100 houses already stand at Sagamore, with dozens more in progress, plus a school, three churches, a company store, and a three story hotel as Sagamore and Plumville boom from coal development.

Farm and home question put to Indiana County voters

Neglect Report Leads Humane Agent to Blacklick Home

Meal costs life of two by toadstool mistake
Abraham Beck and Aaron Woodford of East Ridge near Cherrytree died after consuming a meal of toadstools mistaken for mushrooms. Both fell ill soon after eating. Woodford died Friday and Beck the next day. Woodford was 24, Beck 41.
