Big County Fair Opens With 50th Anniversary Activities
Indiana County Agricultural Society marks its fiftieth year with a grand fair next week featuring a veterans reunion on Wednesday, an ox roast, four free attractions, nine races, bands from Reed of Johnstown and Flood City, Japanese acrobats, balloon ascension, and a dog and bear show. Special grounds improvements include 10 new acres and 825 shade trees. An excursion train from Wintedale to Indiana will assist attendees. John Ranyan and Olive B Palmer wed, along with Esty M Lydick and Bessie L Palmer, at East Oak Street home.

Marion Center Homecoming Draws Thousands To Cherrytree Events
A three day Marion Center homecoming drew 2000 to 2500 visitors on Wednesday with formal welcomes, basket dinner, songs, and a history reading. Highlights included reunion of Company A, 61st Regiment, and a tribute to Benton R. Thompson with full military honors at Marion Center cemetery. An Allison Bryan reunion was planned for Waterson, with attendees traveling by Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburg line.

Ninety Nine Leave Indigna For Largest Rail Excursion
Ninety nine persons departed Indigna for the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburg line on a five day excursion. The event drew many locals from Indiana Windber Blairsville and surrounding towns as the largest send off of the season with numerous couples and families among listed travelers.

Local man ends life in Bolivar home amid illness
Vrank J Love of near Bolivar fatally shot himself in his bedroom Thursday morning after a period of mental strain and fever. His wife was away nursing a fever patient, leaving their two year old asleep. Love, 33, had previously studied at a local church and the medical department of the West University of Pennsylvania. The report also notes other local items including Aaron Neal’s serious injury and a six foot rattlesnake capture near Cherryhill, plus small-town notices about the Central House re opening and Linus M Lewis purchasing a brick building for 4800.

Mrs Martha Snyder Dies at 82 in West Wheatfield Township
Mrs Martha Snyder of West Wheatfield township died Sunday after a lingering illness aged 82. She married three times, first to Man Baird, second to Dorsey Dodson, and third to Adam Snyder. Surviving children include Alex Baird and John Hughes of Bolivar and Doriey Dodson of West Wheatfield. Interment was at Hothel church cemetery in West Wheatfield yesterday.

County Sabbath School Convention to be Held in New Presbyterian Church
A county Sabbath School convention planned for Monday and Tuesday September 10 and 11 will be hosted at the new Presbyterian church. The ninth annual gathering features a primary conference led by Miss Emma C. Lincoln, with a full program including devotional services, round tables, and addresses by Indiana and Philadelphia speakers. Delegates from each school, two teachers per school, and entertainment arranged by H. J. Marhart are anticipated.

Trustees of the Newval have purchased a fine pipe organ 32 feet wide 22 feet high from a Pittsburgh church. The instrument will be installed in the school chapel, expanding the music department into the Indiana Nor dual Conservatory of Music and School of Fine Arts under Prof. Hitulin J. Gegawell. A youth from Wayne Avenue fractured both bones in his right arm after a fall. W D Yates attended the fracture. Miss Anna L. Fulton resigns from New Florence to teach in Pittsburgh schools at $80 monthly. LL Laughlin of Marion Center suffered paralysis. left side affected and condition critical.
