A Bathers Sad End Near Homer City in Washington County
William Repine of Homer City died while bathing in Swartz’s dam Washington County last Sabbath. A 24 year old farmer’s son, Repine struggled as friends tried to help him cross the stream when a splash blocked his face and he sank. Assault at Garfield auction ends in arrest warrant
On Saturday evening James Casman held an auction at his Garfield home when M O Mack and James Betts, intoxicated, forced entry and attacked Casman and his wife. The wife was critically injured. A warrant was issued Monday for felonious assault and battery and aggravated assault and battery. Constable Wettling arrested the men on Tuesday. bail set at $500 each.

Man alleges felonious intent to murder in Blainville case
Mr Eli Waugerman of Bairdstown appeared before Squire S M McMaster and made information against Samuel Rager and Frank Cribbs of Blainville charging felonious intent to commit murder.
