Treatment of the Squash Bug Warns Gardeners in Indiana
The State Zoologist at Harrisburg replies to inquiries on destroying the Stinking Squash bug. Advice includes removing brown eggs, trapping bugs under boards and washing them away, using kerosene to drown or spray damaged plants, planting early squash varieties to draw pests, and destroying garden rubbish to prevent winter hibernation. The local group, now in the state association, will send T A McKinstry to the Johnstown convention. Also notes: buggy collision injures Columbus McCoy near Trowick crossing on the GR and P Railway.
