Whiskey Fatal To Garfield Child In Frantic Home Scene
A four year old, Fleming Gamble, died after drinking whiskey at his Garfield home on Sunday morning. His parents, Archie and Mrs Gamble, were reportedly drinking the prior day, and the father drank a bottle of liquor Sunday forenoon, sinking into a stupor and dying about midnight. In a separate tragedy on Abraham Frantz's Shady Plain farm, James Frantz fell through a barn floor and died in the early hours. James Frantz, a respected youth, left behind parents and sisters, with funeral services held at the Reformed Church of South Bend.

Palmers and Campbells hosted a large Idlewood Park gathering with officers elected and a ball game won 18 to 14 by Chambersville.
