Joseph Hansock, a 28 year old Austrian man living at 144 Coy Mines, died instantly Sunday afternoon near Homer City after dynamiting a stick held over his heart. He had shown distress for days, walked the floor, and lit a fuse before exploding the device as he faced the town on a hill. No motive is known.
Judge Telford with Judge Prather presided an hour as a crowded civil docket expected two weeks of trial. Farmers season and settlements reduced cases, many coal company suits continued or settled, making it too costly to empanel juries for the week.
Salvation Army began services in the Bell Building basement on Philadelphia street last Saturday and will continue with services Tuesday Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7 o'clock Adjutant Abbott Captain Parkins and the officers bring wide experience to the meetings which are described as bright and helpful.

A double tragedy unfolds in Carneytown as McLaughlin family loses Grace aged 3 to pneumonia within a week of mother Grace McLaughlin dying from the same disease. Victims include Gladys McLaughlin aged 8 and the deceased mother Grace McLaughlin. Surviving relatives listed: Porter Kelly Jr and siblings in Vandergrift Plumville Marion Center and Creekside. Funeral services set for Be racha graveyard burial.
The Progress announces a limited supply of government garden seeds for distribution to country and town subscribers. Distribution begins next Saturday with mailed packages available on request. Subscribers must send written orders. seed distribution will continue while supply lasts in order received.
About two hundred graduates of Indiana Normal School attended the third annual Allegheny County Alumni Association banquet at the Fort Pitt Hotel in Pittsburg. Dinner addresses were given by J. Wood Clark, Thomas Sutton, S. Schmucker, Miss Grace Wagner, and H. Carmalh with Alfred M. Lee as toastmaster. Officers elected for the next year include Louis Sutton as president, Edna Heck as secretary, and A. C. Gordon as treasurer.

Several local couples wed in recent days across towns including New Kensington West Lebanon and Elders Ridge. Kelly Lubring and Govinda Lubring married at New Kensington 6:30 Friday evening. Harry Coulter and Mildred Coulter wed in West Lebanon with Rev. Hutchinson presiding. A large blaze at the Wilerton hotel owned by Shadrick Ashe destroyed the building and damaged adjacent property early Sunday. The fire, discovered at around one o clock, prevented saving the hotel and nearby post office. Rescue efforts saved several occupants including Anthony Montwollanry, while Shirlis and Catherine Dixon survived the blaze. Executors and relatives are named in the will sections, with estates allocated to Dixon family and others. Several local residents died in the sequence of related notices and obituaries follow.
The new bounty bill, signed by Governor Brum, increases northern counties wildcat bounties from four to six dollars and reduces weasel and fox rewards while removing hawks from payment. Glenn Hunter Heynolus Bers and others with gifts and tokens of appreciation. Several schools reported perfect attendance and thanks to teachers for their efforts.
