Court Beer Decision Defines Residence For Applicants

Center County issued its first rulings under the State Deer Control Act. Judge M Ward Fleming ruled that retailers and wholesalers licenses may apply anytime during the current beer year from June 1, 1983, to May 31, 1984. Hijacked alcohol truck in Newark shocks police chase

Seventeen gunmen hijacked a near police station truckload of bootleg liquor. They disarmed two prohibition agents Frank McLaughlin and Stephen Christian, fled with 250 five gallon tins of alcohol, and returned the agents weapons in a wrapped parcel. Fire damages State Highway office in New Castle

Police and fire authorities investigated a blaze that damaged the State Highway Department headquarters in New Castle resulting in a 1500 loss. Two small trucks were destroyed and seven or eight others damaged by the fire. No cause has been determined.

More Employed At Altoona Plant Increases Planned

Altoona Pennsylvania June 24 Increases in employment for all department workers at the Pennsylvania Railroad Altoona plant take effect immediately.
