Freighter Indian Enterprise Explodes in Red Sea
The British freighter Indian Enterprise exploded and sank about 300 miles south of Suez. Sixty nine or seventy two crewmen are missing after the blast while one injured survivor, an Indian seaman, was rescued by the Norwegian tanker H. Westfal-Larsen. The ship carried 580 tons of explosives for the Indian Government and had no passengers. The sister ship Indian Exporter searched the area overnight with no success.
