A noon hour theft at the Indiana County Court House saw checks and cash totaling 2980.47 removed from the county treasurer Charles C. McLain's vault. A broken old key unlocked the vault after the cash drawer lay on the floor and the safe door stood open. State funds and envelopes with about 200 in special funds were untouched. Police photographed possible touch points and sought fingerprints.
Washington June 9 The Interstate Commerce Commission postponed the effective date of its order requiring intrastate bituminous coal rates in Ohio to match interstate rates from June 10 to July 10 due to a Ohio court restraining order. Balfe Macdonald a 17 year old from Flint Michigan was arrested in Nashville on a federal charge of sending extortion letters. Leroy Tertwilliger 16 who fled Flint with him is also charged. They left Flint May 27 in Balfe's car after Mrs Grace Macdonald 34 was found murdered in their home.
