Eu withdraws plan to give vote to felons
SACRAMENTO AP The secretary of state's staff attorney issued an opinion saying prison inmates and ex felons should be allowed to vote but it was withdrawn until further notice. Had the opinion been placed into effect it could have restored voting rights to about 17 000 prisoners and an unknown number of ex felons. The opinion was issued by Wyanne Bunyan who was replaced as counsel by Tony Miller. Daniels said Miller has not reviewed the opinion and all 58 counties were told to ignore it for now.
