Abortion Rise Among Minors Encouraged by Law
San Diego hospitals report a surge in abortions for girls under 21 under California laws allowing minors to seek abortions without parental consent. Doctors note many patients are university or college students, aided by Medi Cal funding if needed. One quarter of late 1969 University Hospital abortions were under 21, including 54 patients aged 13 to 17.
