White House cool on Vietnam pullout reports
White House press aides said the administration has set a withdrawal of 150,000 troops to be completed in spring 1971 and that Congressman MacGregor’s claim of a May 31 1971 deadline or a total pullout does not indicate policy change. Ziegler reiterated the stated policy and declined to amplify.
