A $1 million slander suit was filed Tuesday in Memphis Tennessee against Charles Evers the Negro mayor of Fayette Mississippi. The suit was brought in circuit court by attorneys for Memphis Negro leader C Z Evers no relation to the mayor. Evers quoted Monday as saying he was ashamed to bear the same name as the Memphis Negro.
