In Judge G. E. justice court, Charles Enners and wife Tillan Enners faced charges on Tuesday. Charles Enners pleaded not guilty to cruelty to a animal with a scheduled Friday appearance. James T Crowley longtime Polk county resident died May 11 at the state hospital Salem after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the Independence Baptist church with Rev. Al Proppe officiating and interment in Knights of Pythias cemetery south of Monmouth. He was born near Sheridan and survived by wife Clara Miller and children Marcus and Hazel, plus brothers Richard George Bert and sisters Mia Nan Revina and Mrs Harry Willis.

Born in Wisconsin she married there and moved to Oregon eleven years ago settling in North Howell near Salem. Survived by daughter Mrs C A Stewart who cared for her during illness. Funeral held Thursday at 9 30 am in Salem Catholic church with Father Connelle officiating and interment in Salem Catholic cemetery. Funeral Director A L Keeney in charge.
