Run Down by Trolley Car Near Boyle Heights
A Port land lumber dealer Edward A. Post was struck by an eastbound trolley car in Los Angeles. He suffered a fractured skull jaw and internal injuries and was taken to Receiving Hospital unconscious. His recovery chance was described as slight. Post is a brother of Portland and Salem residents and part of Polk County pioneer families.

Mrs Mary Percival Dies in Salem Home
Mrs Mary Percival died at the home of Mrs J G Riggs in Salem on the 3d instant. Born April 4 1830 in Johnson county Missouri she married Wm Percival in 1848 and crossed the plains in 1851. She had lived in Polk county for nearly 57 years and moved to Salem four months ago to stay with her daughter. Survived by seven children including Mrs J G Riggs and Mrs T J Fryer. husband died in 1835. two daughters Emma Percival and Mrs George A Ford are deceased.
