A fast game at the Auditoriumm Saturday evening pitted Monmouth Athletic Club against Independente High School. The Athletic Club played strong defense and efficient basket work while Independente struggled with wood playing and were outmatched by the seasoned opponents. The High School team faced experienced players and accepted defeat as expected on their home floor.

Mr. McClarin the architect presented the new Independence High School with a fine 9 by 16 fing. Teachers and pupils vote thanks unanimously. Debating work is organized and Independence will be represented in the Polk County High School League by two teams. The single tax question is featured and a current events class discusses leading papers and magazines to interest pupils.
