Motel youth program under fire again

An unannounced visit by Beat Representative Ann Fennessy and two police officers to the Shore Drive Motel site of the Methodist Youth Service outpost revealed missing supervision for ten adolescent boys. Officials reported curfew breaches, signout gaps, limited room division, and dire conditions in the on-site recreation area. DCFS funds MYS about $500,000 annually for roughly 90 youths in three city sites.
