The Chicago Housing Authority holds an open house Sunday June 25 from noon to 4 p.m. for two new elderly apartments at 5503 5505 Woodlawn. The design features solid street walls and rear gardens to reduce street noise and provide privacy.

Youth Action program eyed for Hyde Park Kenwood
Community residents heard agency representatives describe youth programs at a meeting held in Hyde Park-Kenwood. The plan calls for a city wide Youth Action program with two full time street workers and several part time staff this summer. Phillip Brin and co chairs Dr William Clark and Ronald Gryz winski seek to raise 5000 by July 1 for the program with contributions sent to Youth Action care of Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference 5200 Harper.
