Despres urges Fifth Ward volunteers for summer jobs program
Fifth Ward Alderman Leon Despres urged local residents to volunteer for the Summer Jobs Program. He called for volunteers, especially women, at 608 S Dearborn to assist youths with applications and job placements and to relay job data to employers. The program is run by the Illinois State Employment Service, the Jaycees, and the Mayor's Summer Job Program. Interested residents should contact project coordinator Miss Anne Coulter RA 6 1200 extension 2626. Despres said volunteers gain a broad view of city activities and he will keep residents informed of other opportunities.
