Last public hearing of the Community Conservation Council on south west Hyde Park urban renewal ran briefly. At George Williams College on 53rd and Drexel a small crowd heard three oral statements and questions answered by Julien Levi of the South East Chicago Commission and Jack Meltzer of the SECC planning unit. Mrs. Lillie Jones questioned why the Corporation blocks an appeal by the South West Hyde Park Neighborhood Association.

The Ray School PTA objects to urban renewal plans affecting the 5600 Kenwood block and a proposed new Ray School. A Building Committee urges the SECC Planning Unit to seriously consider PTA recommendations. The group opposes demolishing the Kenwood block for a new play area and suggests a school between Ray and Kozminski instead.
