Peter Olson fireman on No 3 Northwestern passenger jumped from his locomotive as the train neared Cavour from the east last Monday evening. He suffered severe injuries and remained unconscious. The eccentric strap on the locomotive broke prompting the jump. Engineer McMahan stopped the train and found Olson about eight coaches back unconscious with a suspected fractured skull. Olson is married with one child and lives in Huron.
Pierre census bureau names thirteen towns in South Dakota with populations above 2000. The list order includes Aberdeen Mitchell Watertown Deadwood Yankton Brookings Madison Hot Springs Vermillion and others with populations ranging around two to three thousand.

Mrs B H Stafford died last Monday at her Denver home and funeral services were held there yesterday. The Staffords, formerly of Huron, were well known and many friends extend sympathies to the bereaved husband. Mr Stafford is expected back in the city tonight or tomorrow for a brief visit.
